Early Life & Education
William’s path to success was unconventional. Due to complex family circumstances, he left school during Secondary One and began working as a newspaper seller, petrol station attendant, and furniture promoter. At 16 years old, while working in the furniture trade, he began studying fengshui, dedicating four years to mastering Yijing, Bazi, Zi Wei, and Qimen — even while serving National Service. Today, he is a certified Fengshui Master and founder of Shan Yuan Geomancy and Shan Yuan Pavilion (est. 2024), offering holistic guidance as part of his semi-retirement plan.
Professional Journey
National Service & Early CareerDuring his army days, William served as a Military Policeman, specializing in Arms & Explosives Dog Search and training narcotic and guard dogs. After completing his service, he ventured into the entertainment industry, working under legendary filmmaker Tsui Hark in Hong Kong (1999–2001) and later collaborating with renowned celebrity agent Sun Derong in Taiwan (2001–2003). Returning to Singapore, he worked as a freelance dog trainer and event planner, before founding his first company, M5 Royal Music, in 2005.
Entertainment & Artiste Management
William signed his first artiste, Elson Soh, in 2005, marking the beginning of his 20-year plan. Over the years, he transformed his company into RED International, expanding into artiste management, event production, movie investments, variety shows, and marketing campaigns. His artistes have headlined concerts, starred in films, and become brand ambassadors.
Despite early struggles, including financial difficulties and bankruptcy — William persevered, guided by gratitude for the partners and artistes who stood by him. His belief in second chances continues to shape his leadership style and mentoring approach. Today, he manages a strong roster of talents including Elson Soh, Lawrence Hiew, Wallace Ang, Celest Chong, James Hu, and Zully Le, while also supporting charity projects like Project Awareness, a volunteer movement with over 45,000 Facebook followers since 2013.
